A new standard for searching, selecting, and acquiring broadcast and online audiovisual content.

|
The TVA-1 standard was developed by the TV-Anytime Forum (www.tv-anytime.org) and is published by ETSI as TS 102 822. The TVA-1 standard addresses the means by which consumers will be able to search, select, and acquire broadcast and online audiovisual content in a world of mobile devices and set-top boxes with mass storage capabilities.
As the means of digital audio and visual content distribution continues to proliferate, TV-Anytime is designed to provide consumers greater control of their television programming while simultaneously creating a mechanism for content creators and distributors to better serve their customers.
TV-Anytime promises consumers the ability to select content through metadata searches via electronic program guides (EPGs), interactive television content, web pages, and other means that will help to transform television viewing from a passive activity into a more personalized and interactive experience.
Via Licensing is offering this patent licensing program as a convenience to product manufacturers and service providers that implement the TV-Anytime standards. This program seeks to make licenses to patents that are essential to the implementation of this technology available to the broadest possible number of manufacturers and service providers in a manner that encourages the growth and development of this important technology and its markets.
