License Fees

Two versions of SLS technology are available. SLS requires MPEG-4 AAC as a core codec, and extends MPEG-4 AAC to lossless quality. SLS is to be distinguished from "SLS Non-Core" which does not require MPEG-4 AAC as a base coder.


SLS Consumer Licensed Products (Other than PC Software)
Licensee shall pay Via for each product Sold or Otherwise Supplied in accordance with the following table.

Scalable Lossless Coding (SLS "Non-Core")
SLS Non-Core does not require MPEG-4 AAC as a core codec and is not compatible with AAC decoders for base layer playback.
